"Process-based data provision for the risk reporting of a medium-sized private bank" Maximilian Schnitzlein

Maximilian Schnitzlein from the University of Ulm shows in his Master's thesis "Process-based data provision for the risk reporting of a medium-sized private bank", what advantages can a software offer for process support in the banking environment.

"The banks have been dealing for the relevance of an internal control system in the financial sector for a long time. Only if there is a certain process awareness prevails in the company, process-related risks can be identified and internal controls can be established. Especially in the area of ??risk controlling, the user- or data-driven processes require some control mechanisms, as they rely heavily on a cooperative working method. In this context, the use of Microsoft Excel is increasing, which means that structured data storage and cooperative working methods can only be implemented to a limited extent. However, it is possible that a structured collaborative approach with integrated controls can be more easily realised by using traditional business process management technologies. This work shows, how it is possible to provide data from Excel-driven processes of risk controlling in a medium-sized private bank process-assisted. It will also look at control mechanisms that are made possible through the use of Business Process Management in combination with Microsoft Excel." *

Maximilian Schnitzlein's Master's thesis "Process-based data provision for the risk reporting of a medium-sized private bank" impressively demonstrates the potential of the spreadsheet router for risk management in the banking sector.

AristaFlow congratulates Maximilian Schnitzlein for obtaining the master's degree in computer science.
